The Story of The Frisky Seal...
I was the only Hawaiian Monk Seal known to have been born on the Big Island in recent memory. I was born in Kealakekua Bay in 2000, and loved to swim and play with you humans who would come there to dive and snorkel- perhaps a bit too much! There aren't many Hawaiian Monk Seals left in the world and I needed someone to play with. Unfortunately, I grew up to be pretty big and my playfulness became dangerous for swimmers. Some called me a nipper and a groper, and this may be true. When they relocated me to a remote location far in the Pacific, they called me RM-34. But I like this name the best- The Frisky Seal!!
